Oh great king I would like to speak of something quite serious. We lost someone of great talent a few days ago. And the way in which he died is actually quite similar to other cases. The problem is great king, this case of murder suicide usually shocks us when we see someone who ought to be happy take their own life. This situation usually makes it to the media when someone with allot of money, with a good looking spouse, nice car, big house, and all the great things our society has to offer, still end up taking their own lives out of despair. But why is this? Why are we not happy? Great king, my reason is this:
WE HAVE BEEN LIED TO! We have been told that true happiness comes from the things we possess.
And yes, I know, there are many who consider themselves rich, who believe that they are not deceived by this lie. Yet the evidence of their lifestyle illustrates the deception which lies deep within. Great king, we want and yearn for fulfillment. We want a life that is worth something and full of purpose. Yet we still pursue temporary pleasures to fill an eternal need. We pursue the pleasures which end up being flushed down the toilet the next morning; or the pleasure we get from being the best (pride of life) at what we do, just so that we might garner the praise of another.
BUT THERE ARE ISSUES OF THE HEART THAT NEITHER LUST NOR PRIDE CAN HEAL.
If only this young man Jovan had the right leading. If only someone had explained to him that the true cries of his heart cannot be fulfilled by a great career. That you can succeed in your career and still fail in life. If only someone had the courage, but oh great king that is why I speak to you now. I only pray that you will be a voice in this desperate culture. There are many others like Jovan who need saving and whose hearts are burdened and oppressed.
The foundation of my argument is this:
IN THESE TROUBLED TIMES, I SEE NO BETTER ANSWER FOR THE TROUBLES OF THE HUMAN HEART THAN THAT WHICH IS FOUND BY HAVING FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST.
If you don’t know Jesus Christ, I urgently plea that you know the King of kings and the Lord of lords.
